Supportive guidance through this distinctive chapter of life
Can you relate?
As a parent, you are noticing changes in your teenager. You are worried about what you see and even more worried about what you can’t see. You want to help, but you are not sure how. You are terrified of the consequences of some of the choices that your child is making and what it might mean for the future. You want what’s best for your kid — to see them happy and healthy — but something is in their way.
As a teen, you feel lost, broken, misunderstood, unseen and unheard. You don’t know why it has to be so hard. You look around and desire the relationships, confidence and life that other people seem to have so easily. You’re worried about what other people think and can’t seem to get out in your head.
As a young adult, you search for independence, but feel overwhelmed with all the “adulting”. There are so many transitions to manage and questions you can’t answer just yet. You want to address the things that do not feel quite right, so you can create the best version of yourself and thrive.
Hi, Hello! I’m Angel.
I am a firm believer that your struggles do not define you. You come with a unique set of beliefs and experiences that shape the way you show up with yourself and the world. I welcome all my clients to show up to our space exactly as they are, and I promise to do the same.
As I often find myself pushing back on traditional ways of thinking about approaches to mental health and wellness, I embrace the unconventional and seek to find out-of-the-box and cutting edge solutions that align with your values, strengths and goals. I don’t treat problems — I partner with you. Together, we will build a connected and balanced life free of the limitations you currently feel and experience.
I’m excited to get to know you! I’m even more excited for you to get to know yourself in new, life-changing ways. Throughout our time together, we will look at all the not-so-fun parts of you and the not-yet-understood parts. Most importantly, you’ll discover the very best parts of you that were always there, but perhaps got a bit lost as life got more complicated.
Your story isn’t over.
Teens
Let’s be honest. Sometimes parents and caregivers just do not understand. Being a teenager today is harder than ever — there are more challenges, changes, and conflicts. Making the decision to start therapy is a game-changer. Not only is it a time to discuss hard things— it’s an opportunity to learn skills, discover strengths, and find purpose that sets a solid foundation for a meaningful future.
Young Adults
Freedom, independence, responsibility. All good things, right?! Yes. And No. Creating a life and identity apart from your family of origin presents unique challenges for a unique stage of life. These transition years are full of opportunities, possibilities, and decisions to make. Together, you will set yourself up for a healthy, authentic, and balanced adulthood.
Family
In good times and in difficult times, the role of parents and caregivers are crucial in a young person’s life. Through family therapeutic sessions, your family will learn new ways of understanding and communicating. You will find greater knowledge, wisdom, and skills that will create long-lasting and solid relationships.
Therapeutic Coaching
If you are on the fence about therapy or you feel that your challenges do not fit any of the previous descriptions, coaching may be for you. Do you feel like your mental health is pretty stable, but there are just some tweaks you’d like to make? Do you need some support to maintain your progress — some accountability? Coaching might be just what you need to set yourself up for success and pursuit of your goals.
Residential Transition Support
When traditional therapy isn’t enough, young people may need targeted support in a residential placement. If you are currently considering this option, I can help. Through targeted and frequent interventions, we can work together towards diversion and pursuing help at home.
If you or your teen are coming back home from residential treatment, it is critical to have a plan and support to transition back home successfully. Through therapy with me, I will walk you through this process to support you in healthy and happy reintegration.
Beginning counseling shouldn’t be complicated. Here’s how it works:
Ready?
Vibes Matter! Schedule a free consultation, and let’s chat to see if we are a good fit. This is your opportunity to scope me out, ask questions. and discuss concerns. If we are not a good match, I’ll provide some other referrals for you to check out.
Set.
After we agree that we are a good fit, we will schedule your first appointment. I will send you a secure video link and some light paperwork to fill out before our session.
Go!
We will begin your therapeutic journey toward healing and balance. During each session, we will make progress toward your goals — some days we will take a deep dive into processing significant past experiences, while other days may be focused on here-and-now situations. It is my goal that at the end of our time together, you will have the tools you need to navigate life and feel more hopeful about your future.
Give yourself a moment to imagine what could be. Let’s work together to make it happen.
In your pajamas? Lounging in your comfy bed? Ah, that sounds like a warm and safe place to talk about difficult things. Do you have some fur friends? AWESOME! Let your pets sit in on our sessions. Maybe your schedule is hectic and commuting means extra time you can’t spare. Maybe you don’t have reliable transportation.
In therapy or coaching with me, you do not have to sacrifice your time or feel locked into a certain location. We can do amazing things from the space and time frame that works for you. All you need is a private and quiet location, a good internet connection, and the device of your choice.
Therapy for you — wherever you are.
Therapy with me…
Is for you if you:
Are at least 51% willing to face difficult things in exchange for positive returns
Are ready for healing, relief, growth and new ways to handle the hard stuff
Are willing to be as vulnerable and authentic as possible
Do not accept life the way it is now and are ready to take some ownership and agency in your life
Value a brave, empowered space over a comfortable, unchallenging space
Love dogs. Just kidding! But it certainly doesn’t hurt ;)
May not be for you if you:
Seek perfection over progress
Wish to be treated as a patient and talked to formally and clinically
Believe that your struggles or diagnosis are who you are
Are unwilling to experience some discomfort to work towards what you ultimately want
Are looking for a quick fix and are not willing to work on yourself between sessions
Place blame on others for all your struggles
